Warren M. Brodey, M. D.
Canadian born, Warren Brodey received his Medical Degree from the University of Toronto and then moved to the Eastern United States to study psychiatry. He rapidly saw the gaps in conventional Freudian psychiatry and moved on to become a pioneer in Family Therapy, doing research at the National Institutes of Health. Many of his publications from those days are now available from his web site.
Always a visionary, seeing things many years ahead of the times, Warren then went into private practice in family therapy and into working with Blind Children. His work with Blind children expanded his understanding of the ways people deal with the world when one or more of the 5 senses is absent.
After several years, in the mid-1960’s, Warren gave up private practice to expand his understanding of other ways the brain worked, and how brain function and the evolving computer paralleled one another. This lead him to Boston to study with the Father of Cybernetic Medicine, Warren McCulloch, M.D. Warren Brodey, M.D. is the only physician who ever trained under Warren McCulloch, M.D. During those years Warren B. became proficient in medical cybernetics, medical environmental ecology, and the correlation of computer strategies to the brain function. He also became aquainted with other notables as Norbert Wiener, Ph.D, Marvin Minsky, Ph.D., and Seymour Papert, Ph.D.
It was during those years that he also wrote his two books, Changing the Family later reprinted in paperback and renamed Family Dance. A few years later he published his second book, EarthChild. Sadly, these books are all out of print and unavailable at the present.
It was also during these Boston years that I met Warren, and he became my mentor, advisor, father figure, and valued friend. Over the years Warren has taught me many of the strategies he learned from his cybernetic and environmental ecology research. These strategies became the foundation to my own success as I moved on to my own Medical Career and subsequent interest in Internet marketing.
Many years later I met Don Wolfe. Don’s Neurolinguistic Program and Warren’s Cybernetics and Medical Environmental ecology approaches are significantly different. However, they are very usually compatible. I consider my success skills today a hybrid of both approaches and this is what this site is designed to share with the Internet Community.
